Raspberry Close: Wilderness Comfort
Pointe Carniel Lodge
This property dates back to the late 1800s, when it was a farm. Since 1927 it has been under the family name Carniel. In the 60s and 70s this remote spot by the lake was home to an outfitter lodge and we have owned the property since 1977. Over the past 40 years, the Quebec government has invested in reforesting this 850 acre property. This meant planting an abundance of trees, creating a dense, thriving woodland that is now home to a huge range of birds and wildlife. (So, bring your binoculars!)
The Cottage: Raspberry Close
A cosy, private one bedroom cottage, Raspberry Close is the peaceful countryside retreat you have been craving. Feel the warm sunshine on your face, hear the hum of the bees and the rustling of leaves in the trees. Originally built in 1962 as a log cabin, the cottage has been fully refurbished to offer modern comforts. When you stay at this peaceful cottage it won’t take long until you have no idea what time of day or day of the week it is - and you simply won’t care. What’s Life at the Cottage Like? Wake up to the sound of the birds. Step outside and you’ll be close enough to the water to hear the waves lapping at the lakeshore. Having your own private beach with no direct neighbors means that you are far from any noise and you can truly unwind in peace. The cottage is well-winterized and it is luxurious, warm and comfortable no matter how much snow blankets the landscape outside. It’s the ideal getaway for sunbathers and snow lovers alike. After a long day of snowshoeing or hiking through the woods, there’s nothing better than easing yourself into a hot whirlpool bath with a glass of local wine and watching the sun slowly setting over the lake.
